Free training day for anyone interested in monitoring the health of their local river with the Severn Rivers Trust, in partnership with Canal & River Trust.
What you will gain:
• Guidance from expert tutors to carry out a river health check
• Learn to identify insects in the river and what they can tell us about water quality
• Support and equipment to continue future involvement in our people-powered science
Suitable for absolute beginners! No previous knowledge required.
The day will be fun and interactive, including some indoor sessions and practical demonstrations by the river – bring your wellies and a packed lunch. All other equipment, tea coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Minimum age 15 years. Under 18s should be accompanied by a supervising adult or have written permission from a guardian to attend. Please contact us for further information.
This is a Riverfly Partnership initiative enabling local communities to take action that will help conserve the river environment. This initiative provides a simple monitoring technique which can be used to detect any severe problems in river water quality. For more details about the Riverfly Partnership www.riverflies.org.
