Step onto this secret island in the Severn to explore the newly renovated Victorian lock gate workshop. Learn about the island’s history and discover the role it plays today in the conservation of rare fish in the river!
This is a drop-in event. No ticket required however, due to limited capacity on the island, visitors may experience a short wait to enter the island. Island closes at 16:00. Last admission 15:00.
*Please note this open day is for the island only*
Getting to Diglis Island: Please use public transport links and city centre car parks. The island is a short (approx. 1 mile) riverside walk from Worcester city centre. Bike parking is available. Limited accessible parking on Diglis Dock Road.
Accessibility: Diglis Island is accessed via ramps onto two narrow lock walkways. These are suitable for some wheelchairs and pushchairs, although may not be accessible for larger vehicles (such as mobility scooters). A narrow wheelchair will be available to anybody who wishes to use this to cross the lock gates. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions or would like to discuss your accessibility needs. Accessible toilets will be available for visitor use
COVID-19 guidance: The event will be run in line with national and local COVID guidelines at the time. Please do not attend if you or a member of your household are exhibiting COVID symptoms, have been instructed to isolate or are awaiting the results of a COVID test.
This event is brought to you by Unlocking the Severn as part of Worcester Festival.
