Fish Pass and viewing gallery 25-minute tour

We know there are still lots of people keen to visit Diglis fish pass and underwater viewing gallery, so we are running 25-minute bookable visits in August. Take in the enormity of Diglis fish pass on the terrace, then descend into our underwater viewing gallery to learn about our scientific monitoring and have the chance of spotting wild fish!

The drop-in sessions must be booked. These sessions allow you to spend 25 minutes at Diglis fish pass and are aimed at people who have not yet been to see our underwater viewing gallery.

Note: There are fewer fish making their way past the window at the moment. The main migration season has ended, so while we hope you will see some fish during your visit, we cannot guarantee it.

These sessions take place at Diglis Fish Pass. These sessions are NOT our 90-minute combined tours with Diglis Island. Those will resume in the autumn.

Family-friendly session in the viewing gallery

Would your family like to visit Diglis underwater viewing gallery and learn about our project, but you have children who might need an activity to play with while you’re there? Fear not, the Unlocking the Severn team have got you covered!

Our underwater viewing gallery is a brilliant place for wildlife enthusiasts to explore. As we cannot promise fish sightings this time of year, we are offering visits to the fish pass with a marble run for children to play with.

For each 25-minute session, we can take 3 families at a time, as we will have 3 marble runs in the gallery. Due to the size of the viewing gallery, we cannot accommodate family groups of more than 5 people.

Please book ONE ticket PER FAMILY GROUP of up to 5 people.

Fish pass visit and documentary showing in the viewing gallery

Come and watch the Unlocking the Severn documentary on the big screen…in the underwater viewing gallery! Our team realised not too long ago that our viewing gallery is the perfect location for screening films. So why not start with our project’s story?

Watch our 15-minute film, telling the story of the challenges and successes of our project, from within the fish pass itself. You may even be lucky and catch a glimpse of some fish while you are down there too!

Note: there are fewer fish making their way through the pass at the moment, as the main migration period has ended. However, you could be lucky: some may still show their scaly faces as you watch the film!
