Unlocking the Severn Logo on darkblue background

In these challenging and worrying times, Unlocking the Severn is responding to the emerging Coronavirus Covid-19 situation and prioritising public health by pausing all events, school visits and conferences in line with our parent organisations.  We will not be attending any third party events, most of which are now cancelled. We continue to work with partners and schools and will reschedule as soon as we emerge from the current situation. We are facilitating small scale outdoor volunteering for members of the volunteering team who are comfortable doing so. The work is outside, and we are following government guidance on hygiene and personal distance. We will continue to keep this under review.

Currently our construction sites are continuing as planned. They are taking extra hygiene precautions to minimise the risk of infection. Site activity is under continuous review but we are committed to continue working to undertake our contractual obligations for our contract, sub contracts and supply chain.

It is a huge blow to the team to have to cancel so many events and activities we had planned for this spring and summer but we are working on creative ways to share the essence of our project with you in new ways over the coming weeks and months.  And we are sure that once we are through this crisis, there will be many opportunities to come back together with a new appreciation for the community we enjoy through shared endeavour to unlock the river for people and wildlife.

Our thoughts are with everyone most adversely affected.

Please keep up to date via our social media channels @SevernUnlocked on our website.

UPDATE 23.03.20
