Lock Builders Workshop

The old lock builders workshop on the Island has recently been renovated as part of the Unlocking the Severn project, and there is to be a viewing gallery built at the fish pass. Diglis will become a visitor center and will host school visits as well as photography workshops, open days, family activities and many more events. Tasks for the volunteer team will include: managing hedge-lines, creating a new pathway,  pruning orchard trees and coppicing hazels. Other tasks to be confirmed as the team develops.

There will be two tasters days in January: Tuesday 14th and Tuesday 21st. The sessions will then be run weekly on Diglis Island from late January onwards, with the potential for the team to also cover the other lock islands at Bevere, Holt and Lincomb. There will also be a possibility for developing a lead volunteer role.
