“Standing at the docks, looking at the reflections in the water, I think about how this water, in these docks, is connected to the water in the sea, and out across the Atlantic to almost every other sea, and to all the countless thousands of rivers running into those seas, all around the world, and up those rivers right up to their source, high on some mountainside far away from Gloucester, but all connected, all part of a big unbroken body of water from there to here.”
